Quick Guide to Spec Commands

Here is a guide to some of the more common spec commands. You might also want to look at the Quick Guide to Merging Data with Kuplot.
Setup
startup Run the startup script. Useful for setting the lattice parameters of your sample (see hkscan) and setting the data file name.
newfile Open a new data file. It is suggested that the filename take the format of sample.dd.mm.yyyy to make keeping track of things easier.
Positions and Limits
wm motor Position of motor.
wa Position of all motors.
lm Show limits of all motors.
mv motor angle Move motor to angle.
umv motor angle Updated move motor to angle. After a lup scan can use CEN as the position to move to the center of the measured peak
mvr motor angle Move motor through angular distance angle.
Counting
ct time Count the number of photons in the detector for time seconds.
uct time Updated count of the number of photons in the detector for time seconds.
Scaning data
a2scan motor1 start stop motor2 start stop interval time Coupled scan of motor1 and motor2. This allows for THETA-2THETA couplued scans if the user sets the starts and stops by a factor of two.
hkscan Hstart Hstop Kstart Kstop interval time Scan in Q space. Prior to using this make sure to run the startup script to set the lattice parameters to be 2PI (6.283185307).
lup motor start stop interval time Line-up scan of motor. The start and stop are relative to the current postion.
Note: For all commands, typing in the command with no (or the incorrect number of) parameters will return the syntax of the command.
