Changes in loudness
A one-decibel (1-dB) change in intensity is the smallest change in loudness that an average listener can detect.
A change of 3-dB corresponds to a doubling in intensity (see C/J ex 11 page 500)
A change of 10-dB corresponds to doubling in perceived loudness
