				Student Name _____________________________

				Student Number _____________________________

On the May sky map below, locate your favorite 3 bright stars and circle them.

Draw the retrograde path of Mars with respect to the stars during the spring of 1997. The sky will be displayed on the planetarium dome at one month intervals. For each date displayed mark the location of Mars with respect to the stars using adjacent stars to locate its position and label it with the date. At the end, conect the positions of Mars with a line and use arrows to show the direction of Mars motion with respect to the stars. After the entire sequence of dates is displayed, the motion of Mars will be repeated quickly so you can check your results.
