Nonlinear Beam Dynamics
3 credits ( 3 hr lecture, 0 hr lab)
Prerequisites:
    PHY 861 or equivalent (subject to mutual agreement).
Topics:
    Hamiltonian dynamics in curvilinear coordinates, transfer maps, perturbation theories, maps of common elements, aberrations, tracking, differential algebraic methods, resonances and normal forms.

Particle Accelerators
3 credits ( 3 hr lecture, 0 hr lab)
Topics:
    Live videoconference presentations from sites of major accelerator sites outlining the properties and purposes of the respective devices. Included are Tevatron, LHC, RHIC, CEBAF, Hera, NLC, Muon Colliders, and many others.
