Information for the PHY201 laboratory exam

When? - During regular PHY201 Lab. hours

What's covered?

The lab exam will require you to answer some short questions, to modify some code and to write some code from scratch. Mathematica will NOT be tested in the exam. Any of the FORTRAN instructions in the handouts for the course may appear in the exam. You should also know how to use xmgrace to plot data, and also how to print out your graphs and your data in rm 1240BPS. You can use your existing code, which you developed during the course. You can also use any online help facilities you find useful. You will need to know how to do numerical integration (excluding Simpson's method), and how to solve differential equations using Euler's method (don't worry about Runga Kutta).

Grading scale?

The laboratory worksheets contribute 75% of the total grade for the course. The exam contributes 25%. The Laboratory exam is not curved. You need to know the material well to get a high grade for the exam.
