Live On-Line Help Hours
Help is available via the CHAT button on the LON-CAPA system. Your can
post anytime, but on-line help hours are approximately 8-9 pm every evening
except Saturday.
NOTE: Your post will be deleted if it gives the answer or formulas without explanation, or your question is vague.
Examples:
poor: "I can't do number 3. Can anyone help me?"
better: "Since I need to calculate the magnitude of the force for number 3, I tried to use Coulomb's Law but did not get the right answer. Is there another way to do the problem?"
poor: "Use f = Q1 Q2 k/ r^2 where Q1, Q2 are given in the problem and you measure r from the page."
better: "Coulomb's law, from page 508 in the book, is the way to calculate the magnitude of the force between charged objects. The only quantity not given is r and you can get that from the figure on your homework page. Don't forget to use SI units."
