Kaleidagraph is installed on 5 computers in room 1248, the 4 computers in the back left-side of the room as you walk in, and the last one on the right side as well.  That’s only 5 computers for many students, so you should concentrate on finishing your Kgraph work in class.

On these computers you will see Kgraph on the desktop.

1. When you start Kaleidagraph, you may get an error message "Failed to update the system registry.  Please try using Regedit."   Just click "OK" to this dialog and use Kaleidagraph as normal.

2. If you open a document from inside Kaleidagraph, you may get an error message "The operation has been cancelled due to a group policy object affecting this computer.  Please contact your Network Administrator."  Ignore that, too: click "OK" and open the file as normal from "Desktop", "A: Drive", and "D: Drive".  Or navigate to the A: drive via My Computer and double-click your Kaleidagraph file to open it (you may still see error message in 1. above).

Unfortunately, you can't print from Kgraph in the help room.  So save your work to floppies and you can continue work or print in class.

Details:

The computers are numbered BPS1248-02 through BPS1248-05, and BPS1248-12.   The correct accounts to use for these computers are helproom-02 thru 05 and helproom-12, with the usual password posted in the help room.  You must log into the TEACHING domain, rather than locally on the computer.  If you don’t use the correct login info, you will not have access to the floppy drive or the CD drive.
