- All midterms are counted in the final score (no dropping the lowest score).
- The percentage score on each midterm exam will be calculated relative to 90% of the possible points on the exam. Students scoring higher than 100% are allowed to keep the extra points. To calculate your percent score on an exam: EXAM1%=100*(exam1 points earned)/(0.90*possible points on exam 1)
- The percentage score on the final exam will be calculated relative to 90% of the possible points on the exam. Students scoring higher than 100% are allowed to keep the extra points.
- Homework percentage will be calculated relative to 90% of the total possible homework points, HW% = 100 * (HW points)/(0.9*possible HW points). HW score will be capped at 100%. This provides a 10% buffer for technical problems. No extensions will be given for HW without exceptional circumstances. Students are responsible for finding a site from which they can enter their answers. "The net was down when I tried to enter my problems from Ohio" or "I couldn't get LON-CAPA to work from my parent's computer" are not valid excuses, but "I have three weeks of chemotherapy" is a valid excuse.
