This email concerns two matters: which section to register in, and how to take exams from off campus. Which section? If you are: 1) in Lifelong Ed, not taking 231C for MSU degree credit or 2) living WAY off campus, too far to commute for exams then you should be registered in PHY231C section 731. Other PHY231C students should be registered in PHY231C section 730. I’ve just changed the enrollment limits, so you should be able to change registration this week; please do so! Remote Exams: If you are too far from campus to commute for the exams, you will have to arrange for exam proctoring. The steps: 1) you should be registered in section 731 of PHY231C now (or at least as soon as the registrar’s system lets you) 2) send me an email now to identify yourself as someone who needs to take exams off campus and give me your location. 3) For directions on setting up proctoring, read the web page http://www.pa.msu.edu/~pratts/phy231/exams/Off-Campus_Exams.html (or: http://www.pa.msu.edu/courses/2007spring/PHY231/ then Exams and the link in the Off Campus Students bullet) This takes a while to set up, so start NOW. 4) Send me the required information for your proposed proctor. Please contact me if you have more questions, - Alex Brown
