- There are no make-up midterm exams. However,
if you miss a midterm exam for any reason you will be allowed to drop this exam and the midterm portion of your final grade will be based on the other two midterm exams. Only one midterm exam will be dropped. If you take all three midterms, your lowest midterm exam score will be dropped when calculating your final grade
- The percentage score on each midterm exam will be calculated relative to 90% of the possible points on the exam. Students scoring higher than 100% are allowed to keep the extra points. To calculate your percent score on an exam: EXAM1%=100*(exam1 points earned)/(0.90*possible points on exam 1)
- The percentage score on the final exam will be calculated relative to 90% of the possible points on the exam. Students scoring higher than 100% are allowed to keep the extra points. The final exam will not be dropped -- it is University policy that students missing a final exam will receive a grade of 0 for the course.
- Homework percentage will be calculated relative to 95% of the total possible homework points, HW% = 100 * (HW points)/(0.95*possible HW points). HW scores will be capped at 100%. This provides a 5% buffer for technical problems. No extensions will be given for HW without exceptional circumstances. Students are responsible for finding a site from which they can enter their answers. "The net was down when I tried to enter my problems from Ohio" or "I couldn't get LON-CAPA to work from my parent's computer" are not valid excuses.
