*-a 0.5% participation bonus will be added to the final average of any student taking the pre-course or post course diagnostic. If you participate in both 1% will be added to your final average. If you only participate in one, 0.5% is added and if you do not participate (or don't give a serious** effort) no bonus will be added. Additionally, a pre-and a post course survey will be offered at the same time as the two diagnostics are offered. Students participating in these surveys will receive a 0.5% participation bonus added to their final average for each survey in which they participate. If you seriously participate in all four of these optional assignments, 2% will be added to your final average; if you seriously participate in three of them, 1.5% will be added to your final average; if you seriously participate in two of them, 1 % will be added to your final average, if you seriously participate in one of them, 0.5% will be added to your final average.
 
**-simple submission patterns(like AAA..., or BBB...) or rapidly clicking on any response throughout the diagnostic or survey are not considered serious efforts and no bonus will be given
 
*** The alternate final exam time is for students having three verified final exams on the scheduled date or for students having a verified final exam at the same time as our scheduled (common) final exam time. It is up to the student to check their MSU final exam schedule. No requests for an altenrtae exam in this class will be granted if they are made after the alternate final request deadline. Not taking the time to check a final exam schedule prior to the deadline is not a valid reason for taking the final at the alternate time.
