Administrative questions about the course should be sent to phy231c-adm@pa.msu.edu one of the course instructors will reply. Help on solving the homework should not be sent via email. Instead, the question should be posted on the Lon-Capa discussion board or brought to the help room. Questions about the online lectures themselves should be posted on the discussion board.
Help Room Hours (BPS 1248)
Starting Jan. 16, the Strosacker help room is in 1248 BPS and is open from 9:00AM to 9:00PM Monday through Thursday and from 9:00AM to 6:00PM on Fridays. You are welcome to go to the help room during any of its open hours but there will be appointed times when TAs specifically for PHY231/231C will be available. When they are available, they will be posted here:
We recommend that you spend at least one hour in the help room each week, preferably working with other students in study groups. The TAs for the course are there to assist you and aid you in working through our assignments. However, this does not mean the TAs are there to solve class assignments for you.
Online Lectures and examples
A reliable high speed internet connection is required, as is a computer with the ability to view flash video. The computer will need a current, supported operating system and a browser running HTML5 to use all the options available in the online lectures.
Extensions for homework/bonus questions/correction exam assignments will not be given for reasons like, but not limited to: "I could not connect to the internet", "I didn't have a reliable internet connection", "I enrolled in the class after the official start of the session", "I chose to go on vacation, attend a wedding, etc and enroll in this accelerated class" or "the net was down at my parent's place".
Spartan Code of Honor and Academic Pledge
As a Spartan, I will strive to uphold values of the highest ethical standard. I will practice honesty in my work, foster honesty in my peers, and take pride in knowing that honor is worth more than grades. I will carry these values beyond my time as a student at Michigan State University, continuing the endeavor to build personal integrity in all that I do.
