- Recommended Background:
The self-assembly process and unusual phenomena occurring in nanostructures of carbon. Magnetic aggregates
in different size ranges. Finite size and low-dimension effects. Fractional conductance quantization. Response in
nanostructures to mechanical stress, high temperature, and electric fields. Offered first half of semester.
