MSU ATLAS Group

The ATLAS experiment will detect and measure proton-proton collisions in the Large Hadron Collider. It is located at the CERN Laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Michigan State ATLAS Group is involved in Top Quark Analyses, specifically in searches for Single Top production.

MSU is also working on establishing Standard Model benchmarks with early data sets and PDF uncertainties. These studies will expand to include vector boson production of the Higgs.

MSU is also involved in searches for Z' bosons in early ATLAS data.

MSU is also involved in the ATLAS Trigger and Data Acquisition Systems. We are participating in the development of the Level 2 trigger and the optimization of the trigger selection criteria for Top Physics. We are also involved in the upgrade of the L1 Calo trigger.

In addition, MSU is involved in the ATLAS Tile Calorimeter .
