Good for Production HTM Card THD Components --------------------------- Rev. 24-Apr-2018 The purpose of this note is to describe all of the Through Hole Device (THD) components that the assembly vendor needs to mount onto the HTM Card circuit board. The HTM Card uses 6 types of THD components. The following tables lists all of the THD components and shows how many of each type are used and whether they are soldered into the PCB holes or press-fit into the PCB holes. HTM Card MSU THD Component: Description, Part Number Vendor Part No & Reference Desig. This support of the back side of the PCB can not interfere with any of the SMD components that are mounted there. Note that you should be able to use the same press and support structure that was used to assembly the Hub Module to install these Press-In connectors in the HTM Card. The HTM Card does not have as many of these Press-In connectors as the Hub Module does - but the Press-In connectors that the HTM Card has are located in the same positions as on the Hub Module. - It is very important that the ATCA Zone 1 and Zone 2 connectors are evenly and fully pressed in and that they are not overly pressed in and thus crushed. - The ATCA Zone 2 connectors have 160 rather small and easy to bend pins for a press-in component. - Failure to properly install the press-in Zone 1 and Zone 2 backplane connectors would be a big problem for us. - The SynQor power module has some heavy high current pins that solder to multiple layers within the PCB. These pins will be difficult to solder high thermal mass connections. More information, including installation instructions, for these THD components can be obtained from their manufacturer's web sites.
