Notes on Hub Module SN 12: Latest Rev. 30-Aug-2019 -------------------------- - Start work on Hub SN-12 on 14-June-2019 - This is the 2nd of the Production Build of Hub cards. - All work on the MSU Final Assembly of Hub SN-12 fits the basic outline as described in hub_msu_final_assembly_prod_only_print.txt - From the Final Assembly of SN-12 I'm making the following changes to: hub_msu_final_assembly_prod_only_print.txt Delay installing the backplane MPO connectors until the end when they are needed. Center punch the back side of the front panel by the holes for the handle mounting screws to make a better ground connecton to the aluminum. Recall the the front panel holes for the Top Bracket need to be changed from 2-56 to 4-40 body i.e. drill #33. Recall that Q2951 is mounted up side down. Recall that there is no need to solder pins #1 and #2 of the "spare oscillator" U562. - This final assembly results in a 100% final version Hub except that the IPMC power control has been "bypassed", there is no IPMC on this Hub yet, and there is no ROD on this Hub yet. Initial Power Up Checks: ------------------------ - Check of the Hub SN-12 PLL clocks: 40.08 MHz PLL 40.0851 MHz free run 40.08 MHz PLL 40.0729 to 40.0842 MHz re-lock 320.64 MHz PLL 40.0757 to 40.0822 MHz re-lock Spare Oscillator 40.078625 MHz running At 40.0787 MHz the PLLs will re-lock with => 140 mVpp square wave from the HP generator. Check both sides of all clock fanouts: yes - Program the Flash Config Memory with the Safe/Foundation firmware. - Verify that this Hub Auto-Configures at power up. Final Bench Checks of SN-12: date: 26-June-2019 ----------------------------- The following checks were made while Hub SN-12 was running the Safe Foundation FW with MiniPODs installed. A thermally bonded FPGA heat sink was installed. Now moves to MGT Link and Enet Switch tests. Install an IPMC on Hub SN-12: date: 28-July-2019 ----------------------------- Until today I had forgotten to install an IPMC on this Hub. Today install IPMC SN-207 on to Hub SN-12. Remove the IPMC Power Control Bypass: date: 30-Aug-2019 ------------------------------------- The IPMC Power On/Off Control Bypass has been removed from Hub SN-12 so that the IPMC now controls the power on this card. 11 OCT 2019 Hub SN-12 was removed from SS14 and placed in the catalog so testing of Hub SN-07 can begin. 12 NOV 2019 - Removed ATCA handle bypass and installed yellow wire from handle switch across commons of Jumpers 5 & 6. - Verified that coupling capacitors C2301-C2308 have been removed from in between ethernet switches U31 & U32. 10 JAN 2020 - Repaired physical damage to trace between C1551 and R1551. - It looked like something impacted the board either going in and out of the test rack, or in and out of the storage shelf. The trace was damaged but was still making contact. - Scraped coating off the trace and bridged damaged area with piece of bare 30AWG - Photos of Before & After placed in hub's folder. 21 JAN 2020 - Removed previously installed IPMC bypass from the handle switch. Installed 0 Ohm jumper at JMP 5. IPMC module now has control of ISO_12V supply. 15 MAY 2020 - Removed this unit's minipods for use on SN30 per instructions from Wade. 19 AUG 2020 - Installed new minipods on SN12.
