Hub-Module Reference Designators ------------------------------------- Original Rev. 17-Mar-2015 Current Rev. 6-Nov-2016 Implementation of the Hub Module requires a large number of components. A random assignment of reference designators would result in a mess. This file describes the reference designator organization used on this card. There are a couple of sections where reference organization is used to a big advantage. - The Hub Module has 9 DCDC Converter sections. These 8 converters DCDC1:DCDC9. 7 of these are Switching converters and 2 of them are Linear Regulators. They are setup with reference designators that increment by 50 from one section to the next except for the 2 Linear regulators what share a block of 50 reference designators as explained below. - A major section of the Hub Module is the 74 channel GTH readout data fanout. All 74 channels is this fanout have the same circuit design. The reference designators for the capacitors in this section increment by 7 when moving from one channel of the GTH fanout to the next. General Plan of Reference Designators: U1 is the Hub's Virtex FPGA U21, U22 are the Phys Chips for the Hub's FPGA U25 is the Configuration Flash Memory U31, U32, U33 are the Switch Chips A, B, C U35, U36, U37 are the EEPROMs for Switch Chips A, B, C U38 and U39 are the 25 MHz Clock for the Switch Chips U41 IPMC EEPROM FRU&SDR I2C U401 through U475 are the GTH Fanout chips - increment of 1 U501 through U549 Clock Generation and Distribution U551 through U599 Miscellaneous: Level Translators, Buffers C1 through C189 are the bypass caps for Virtex FPGA C251 through C299 are distributed bypass caps that are placed opportunistically during routing and placed when it looks like it needs it.
