In everything that follows we are talking about trigger towers 17, 18, 19 and 20, Em and Had sums. The detector channels connected to these "L,M" cards are: Ieta = 33 thru 37, all layers; CC massless gaps for Ieta=8 thru 12 (layer 8); ICD for Ieta=12 thru 14 (11 thru 13?) (layer 9); and EC massless gaps for Ieta=8 thru 13 (layer 10). In words, what we did was merge TT17 with TT18, and TT19 with TT20, to make new TT's 17 and 18. This freed up TT19 and 20 for use by massless gap and ICD signals. Explicitly here is what we did. In run 1 we had: TT17,EM == for Ieta=33, sum layers 1,2,3,7 TT17,HA == for Ieta=33, sum layers 11,12,13,14 TT18,EM == for Ieta=34, sum layers 1,2,3,7 TT18,HA == for Ieta=34, sum layers 11,12,13,14 TT19,EM == for Ieta=35, sum layers 1,2,3,7 TT19,HA == for Ieta=35, sum layers 11,12,13,14 TT20,EM == for Ieta=37, no inputs to sum TT20,HA == for Ieta=36, sum layers 11,12,13,14 We talked about connecting Ieta 37, HA layers 13,14 to the unused tt20,EM driver, but I do not believe it was ever used. None of the ICD or massless gaps channels were used in Run 1 trigger sums. In Run 2 we have: TT17,EM == for Ieta=33+34, sum layers 1,2,3,7 TT17,HA == for Ieta=33+34, sum layers 11,12,13,14 TT18,EM == for Ieta=35+36, sum layers 1,2,3,7 TT18,HA == for Ieta=35+36, sum layers 11,12,13,14 TT19,EM == for Ieta=9+11, sum layers 8,10 (Massless Gaps) TT19,HA == for Ieta=12+13+14, sum layers 9 (ICD) TT20,EM == for Ieta=8, sum layers 8,10 (Massless Gaps) TT20,HA == for Ieta=10+12, sum layers 8,10 (Massless Gaps) In addition, at the second level summers, one could add Ieta=13, layer 10 (massless gaps) to TT19,HA (ICD), which are not presently included in any sum. Similarly, at the second level summers, one could add Ieta=37, layers 13,14 (HA) to TT18,EM, which are not presently included in any sum. Aside from my uncertainty about exactly which eta values the ICD sit at (which should not effect anything you are doing?), there is one more uncertainty. That is: when I remade the BLS backplanes to add the additional control lines for run 2, I also changed the mapping of the trigger backplane connectors. I believe that I understand the old and new driver to backplane connector mapping, but this has never been checked. I am reasonably sure that I could not have switched EM with HA, but it would have been trivial to swap TT18 with TT19, or TT19 with TT20, and even TT17,18 with TT19,20. I do not believe that I have done that, but have nothing to prove that I did it correctly. NOTE: Bob read this carefully! I just went back to the backplane layout to check that I had not swapped the two pairs of trigger towers (17,18 with 19,20). I now believe that I did indeed swap those two connectors (has to do with looking at the connectors from the side you cable from VS thru the board). So unless we swap the connectors at the BLS backplane (or at the CAl trigger end, but that sounds even harder), the map I gave above is WRONG. Assuming we do not recable the trigger cables, here is now what I believe the mapping for run 2 is: TT17,EM == for Ieta=9+11, sum layers 8,10 (Massless Gaps) TT17,HA == for Ieta=12+13+14, sum layers 9 (ICD) TT18,EM == for Ieta=8, sum layers 8,10 (Massless Gaps) TT18,HA == for Ieta=10+12, sum layers 8,10 (Massless Gaps) TT19,EM == for Ieta=33+34, sum layers 1,2,3,7 TT19,HA == for Ieta=33+34, sum layers 11,12,13,14 TT20,EM == for Ieta=35+36, sum layers 1,2,3,7 TT20,HA == for Ieta=35+36, sum layers 11,12,13,14 If we do recable, then the previous table (and Bob's unpacking code) are correct.
