This note covers the assembly of the HSROCB printed circuit board. There are 80 of these circuit boards to be assembled. All parts will be supplied in a kit for this assembly work. The assembly work involves through hole and surface mount components on the "component side" of the board and additional surface mount components on the "solder side" or the board. The following is a description of the assembly work that is required on this card. It electrically connects to the board via 17 pins in a SIP pattern. It is physically held to the board by two 2-56 by 1/2" allen screws. U2 is an optical component. I talked to the people at Finisar about the assembly of this component. They said that it may be handled with "standard assembly, soldering, and cleaning techniques". The important points were to make sure that the water tight dust cap is securely on the module during assembly and cleaning and not to remove this cap until it is certain that all cleaning liquid has evaporated. We plan to keep these caps on the optical ports until we deliver this whole system to Fermilab.
