From: SMTP%"hance@fnal.gov" 15-DEC-1998 13:19:36.22 Subj: Electrical/Electronics Safety Guidelines Gentlemen, I am sending these two documents to members of the "Electronics Certification Board". It is my hope that you might pass them along to the various design groups that may someday wish to have an electrical safety review prior to operating their equipment at Dzero. If they follow these guidelines, they might save themselves some trouble getting approvals to operate their equipment unattended. The documents are: 1) "Electrical Design Standards for Electronics to be used in Experiment Apparatus at Fermilab". Latest revision 10/16/98. As approved by the Laboratory Electrical Safety Subcommittee and soon to be adopted by the Engineering Standards Committee. 2) Chapter 9 of the "DOE Handbook of Electrical Safety" DOE-HDBK-1092-98. Chapter 9 covers "Enclosed Electrical/Electronic Equipment". The Fermilab Electrical Safetly Subcommittee contributed to this document which was adopted by the DOE in January 1998. Rick
