Timing Signals The issue of Timing Signals is split into 2 parts: the wire-wrap needed on the CTMBD's, and the delivery of Timing Signals to the LTCC's. A. Wire-Wrap on CTMBD's In the charts below, signals marked with an '*' are to be added to the CTMBD wire-wrap maps. Delivery to LTCC's The LTCC's are unusual in that some of their Timing Signals come not through the backplane but instead through individual twisted-pair cables. These cables are built with an 8-position AMP crimp-pin style header on each end. At the LTCC C3PB J5 end, the headers are installed all the way to the LEFT end of J5 (note that the left-most pair of pins on J5 is not used and the leftmost pair of openings on the AMP crimp-pin header are empty) with the RED wires up. At the CTMBD end, the cables are to be plugged into the J3 pins corresponding to TSS-J, TSS-K, TSS-L (these are pin pairs J3-89/J3-57, J3-90/J3-58, J3-91/J3-59 respectively), again with the RED wire up and the open pair of positions to the LEFT. This will provide the connections listed above, with no inversions. Note that these harnesses are customized for the particular backplanes they service (e.g. the harnesses for M105 and M109 provide service to two LTCC cards, the harnesses for M107 and M111 only provide service to one LTCC card, and additionally the harness for M111 allows the LTCC card to live higher up in the backplane). III. COMINT PROMs New COMINT PROMs are required. If LTCC installation precedes Two COMINT installation, then an intermediate set of COMINT PROMs for the One COMINT mode are required. IV. MTG PROMs New MTG PROMs are required for the Cal Trig MTG. These PROMs will produce the Timing Signals (30 and 31) required for the LTCC T2 and T3 cards. V. LTCC PROMs More LTCC PROMs are required. A source file for these parts exists both on the VAX and on IBM-PC disks. Enough PROMs for this project are available in the basement lab.
