***************************** * * * CTBP TERMINATOR LOCATIONS * * * ***************************** 23-MAY-1991 This file describes the locations that each Timing and Sync Signal can be found on a CTBP Revision B (Tier 1) Backplane. It also specifies the recommended positioning for the Terminator Resistors, both the board-mounted variety and the single-signal variety. LOCATION OF TIMING SIGNALS AT CARD SLOTS ---------------------------------------- TSS CARD J4 Pin numbers --- ---- -------------- A CTFE 65, 33 B CTFE 66, 34 C CTFE 67, 35 D CTFE 68, 36 E CTFE 69, 37 F CTFE 70, 38 G CTFE 71, 39 H CTFE 72, 40 J CTFE 22, 23 K CTFE 24, 25 L CTFE 26, 27 M CTFE 28, 29 N CAT2 MOMENTUM 72, 40 P CAT2 ENERGY 72, 40 R CHTCR 68, 36 S CHTCR 69, 37 LOCATION OF TERMINATOR RESISTORS ON BACKPLANE --------------------------------------------- SLOT TSS TYPE J4 Pin numbers ---- --- ---- -------------- 27 P Single 72, 40 26 N Single 72, 40 2 A-H Board (ALL SIGNAL PINS) 2 J-K Double 22, 23, 24, 25 2 L-M Double 26, 27, 28, 29 1 R Single 68, 36 1 S Single 69, 37 Note that the Terminator Board located at slot 2 also terminates the CA, FA, STB, DIR, and DATA bits. A "Board" type terminator is the board containing 32, 110 Ohm resistors. A "Single" type terminator is an AMP 2-position header containing a single 110-Ohm resistor, which has AMP crimp-contacts crimped and soldered on, and the resistor leads are protected with VOLTREX tube. A "Double" type terminator is an AMP 8-position header, cut in half longitudinally to provide 4 positions. These, unline the AMP 2-position headers, are "end-stackable" in the required orientation. The resistors are installed in the same fashion as a "Single." The header must be cut in half to prevent interference with both the Backplane Support Bar, and the "Board" type terminator also mounted at Slot 2. Note that the two adjacent "Doubles" could be replaced with a "Quad," or 16-position AMP header, again cut in half longitudinally.
