Install Terminators on the ExtBit and ExtEnb signals that are used for map select control (2 DIP packs). Operation --------------- Because the Momentum Lookup only cycles once during a beam crossing cycle and because we do not want extra edges or noise on the Momentum Map Select TSS lines we need to do something to keep it from trying to make a 2nd lookup. Three idea is: Replace the 3 CTMapSel PALs in the Momentum Map Select channels of the Cal Trig MTG with BIT2 PALs. The BIT2 PALs would allow either manual control of the Momentum Map Select lines or the BIT2 PALs can be loaded to have their outputs follow the ExtBit inputs. The latter would allow tracking the Fast Z with only one lookup map selected per beam crossing cycle. With this method the current timing PROM may be retained (the PROM timing will just be ignored for the Momentum Map Select MTG channels. Current Setup of Control Registers for Fast Z Tracking Map Select ------------------------------------------------------------------- Currently the Control Register in the L0toL1 Box is loaded with a data value of 2. This selects the real data from on the cable from the L0 Fast Z module and the input data latch clock signal on the cable that comes from the L0 Fast Z module.
