WIRING BETWEEN THE FSTD and DBSC 
            ************************************

     The outputs of the FSTD gate  control signals going to the DBSC are active
HIGH i.e. they go HIGH when the DBSC should be incrementing. The Gate Inputs of
the DBSC card are active LOW i.e. the  counter can only increment when the Gate
Input is LOW and  is inhibited from  incrementing when  the Gate Input is HIGH.
The default state of the DBSC Gate Inputs is LOW, thus enabling the counters to
increment. To properly control the DBSC, the gate control signals from the FSTD
must be inverted before connection to the DBSC. 

     The connections are to be made with  single, twisted pair wires terminated
in AMP 2-contact headers. Each cable is to be made from wires that are 4" long.
When installed, one end  (by convention the FSTD  end) should be installed with
the red wire on top. The other end (again by convention the DBSC end) should be
installed with the black wire on top. 

     Each of the 4  channels on a  DBSC card has  its own  serarate Clock Input
connection. For  their application in  the FSTD cell all  4 Clock Inputs on the
DBSC card will be  wired together  using the vias for  the terminator resistors
for  the  Clock  Inputs (NO   terminators  are  used).  Then  to bring the DBSC
Increment  Clock  fromm the TSS  Bus to the  DBSC only  one patch  cord is used
between TSS Bus Signal E  on the top AND-OR  backplane (MBA=132 in M101, MBA=68
in M102) to  the Clock 4  input (J2 pins  25-26) of the  lowest DBSC. Then, the
Clock 1 line (J2  pins 7-8) is  attached to the Clock 1  line of the next DBSC,
which has its  Clock 4 connected to  the DBSC above it.  This continues through
the 8 DBSCs in each rack. In this fashion, the clock is fed to all DBSCs in the
framework.
