COMINT ADDRESS SPECIFICATION FILE ------------------------------------- Rev. 24-JAN-1994 CBus 3 of 4 Assistant COMINT Card Modification Date -------------------------------------- -------------------- This is the 1st draft of the major 24-JAN-1994 D.E. rewrite of the ASF files to support TWO COMINT Cards. This file is for CBus 3, which is the "upper CBus" of The Assistant COMINT Card. This CBus is not used to readout any data from the L1 Framework, the L1.5 Framework or the L1 Cal Trig. PROM's are needed for CBus #3 only to supply the "End-of- Data-Block-Flag" to stop the Data Block Builder. The "upper CBus" of the Assistant COMINT card is not used in this initial implementation of Two COMINT operation. All of the old modification notes from the single COMINT days have been dropped. This file is for the Assistant COMINT Card. Notes: All PROM Addresses are specified with the +INC mode except for PROM Addresses on pages: 4, 5, and 6 In general no blank spaces (i.e. no data read PROM locations) have been left in this Address Specification File. For example there are no blank locations between the Current Beam Crossing data and the Previous Beam Crossing data. Page 3 Blank Page ; Page 4 Beginning_of_Data_Section ; We will start by skipping the first 11 addresses in the Assistant COMINT's ; "lower CBus" PROM. PROM Address 0 is skipped for historical reasons (e.g. ; to give COMINT a chance to get its Data Block Builder engine running). ; ; PROM Addresses 1:10 are skipped for now. They may be used for special ; diagnostics or error checking reads. ; ; Mother ; PROM Board Card Function ; Address Address Address Address Comment ;--------- -------- ------- -------- ------------------------------ Adrs= 0000, MBA= 000 CA= 00 FA= 000 ! Recall that the MSB of the CBUS1 ; Card Address PROM contains the flag used to end the Data Block Building ; Cycle. This bit is low during the entire Data Block Building Cycle, and ; must go high no fewer than 3 addresses after the last valid item in the ; Data Block, and must remain high for exactly 1 address. For safety the ; END OF DATA FLAG goes high 5 addresses after the last valid item in the ; Data Block. The END OF DATA FLAG will be active during PROM Address 1623. ; ; Also note that the COMADRS program will issue a warning at the this ; location, because the Card Address programmed in the CBUS1 PROM is not ; a valid Card Address i.e. it is outside the range 0..63). Adrs= 1623, MBA= 0 CA= 128 FA= 0 ; CA MSB is END OF DATA FLAG ; Now invert the End of Data Block Flag pulse i.e. make it so that ; normally it is at a voltage high level and it pulses to a voltage ; low level for one address.
