Travel Resources for Unsupported Faculty

Faculty who are without research support, either extramural or internal (such as CFMR, AURIG, etc.) occassionally receive invitations to deliver research talks at conferences or workshops. I am anxious to support opportunities for this sort of activity, especially when it enhances visibility and increases chances for acquiring outside funding. I intend to rely on an interest group evaluation of the invitation as an internal review to guide my decision. Hence, the Department will match any CMP, HEP, AST, or NP resources allocated to a member of their respective groups who is giving an invited talk at a conference.

• This is limited, generally, to one such opportunity per faculty member per calendar year.
• It is the responsibility of the Group Executive Secretary to communicate with me electronically regarding the details of the match.
• This is not applicable to faculty who are supported through any grants or contracts from the outside, nor generally to those who are supported internally, eg. through CFMR, AURG, etc..
• This is not applicable to research associates or graduate students.
