Department Matching Funds

I hope to be able to occassionally match outside support for research efforts. Generally, this departmental support is expected to be limited to circumstances in which the College of Natural Science is involved in the matching...but not always. It has been the tradition, which I support, that any PA match for any purpose is divided evenly with the interest group. Any match must be agreed to in advance, and in writing among the Chairperson, faculty member seeking the match, and the Executive Secretary of the interest group.

Any PA contribution to startup funds for new faculty is expected to be equally shared with the interest group. This includes contributions to equipment as well as possible bridging funds for salary.
