I rely heavily on delegation of the departmental functions. These functions come loosely under two areas, Academic and Operations and the regular functioning of these areas is generally under the oversight of the two associate chairpersons: the Associate Chair for Academics and the Associate Chairperson for Operations. The accompanying organizational chart shows a number of committees which fall in either catagory. The Associate Chairpersons are responsible for monitoring the activities of these committees. They also are directly the supervisors for various of the staff associated with these functions. Specifically:

Academics. The Associate Chairperson for Academics is Professor Kovacs. He is the supervisor for the two clerical staff in the Academic Office (Holland and Salmon), Rm106. He is also supervisor of the lecture demonstration staff (McIntyre) and the teaching laboratory staff (Olsen). The committees for which he has oversight responsibility include:

 

Operations. The Associate Chairperson for Operations is Prof. Repko. He is supervisor for the professional computing staff (Perkins and Wilke). The committees for which he has oversight responsibility include:
