Final Machining of the Alpha and Beta Boards -------------------------==============--------- Date 5-Dec-2022 This note describes the final machining that is required for the new Alpha and Beta printed circuit boards. This work is similar to the machining work that you did on the Original Cold Board and the NV Board back in October 2020. The finished shape of both the current Alpha Brd and Beta Brd is circular, just like the original Cold Brd, but these two new boards have a larger diameter. In all cases the 0,0 origin of the coordinate system for all of these cards is in their center and all dimensions are in mm. Alpha Board: ------------ Finished Diameter: 61.00 mm Chip Trench Design: new design 6 mm x 6 mm Alignment Pin Locations: 30.00, 30.00 mm X,Y -30.00, 30.00 -30.00, -30.00 30.00, -30.00 Hold-Down Screw Holes: 14.85, 14.85 mm X,Y -14.85, 14.85 -14.85, -14.85 14.85, -14.85 Beta Board: ----------- Finished Diameter: 61.00 mm Chip Trench Design: original design 2 mm x 7 mm Alignment Pin Locations: 30.00, 30.00 mm X,Y -30.00, 30.00 -30.00, -30.00 30.00, -30.00 Hold-Down Screw Holes: 14.85, 14.85 mm X,Y -14.85, 14.85 -14.85, -14.85 14.85, -14.85 Notes: ------ The diameter of the Original Cold Board does NOT match the diameter of the new Alpha and Beta boards. 56.00 mm diameter for the original Cold Brd vs 61.00 mm diameter for the new Alpha and Beta The location of the Alignment Pin Holes in the Original Cold Board does NOT match the location of the Alignment Pin Holes in the new Alpha and Beta boards. 31 mm for the original Cold Brd vs 30 mm for the new Alpha and Beta The location of the Hold-Down Screws Holes in the Original Cold Board does NOT match the location of the Hold-Down Screw Holes in the new Alpha and Beta boards. 16.62 mm for the original Cold Brd vs 14.85 mm for the new Alpha and Beta The design of the 2 mm x 7 mm Chip Trench in the Original Cold Board DOES exactly match the design of the 2 mm x 7 mm Chip Trench in the new BETA board. The new Alpha board has a new 6 mm x 6 mm Chip Trench design.
