Air Inlet Assembly ------------------------ Original Rev. 24-MAR-2008 Current Rev. 25-MAR-2008 Please make 4 of the "Air Inlet Assemblies". In total, the following parts are needed to make these 4 Air Inlet Assemblies: Quantity Item -------- -------------------------------------------- 4 16 1/2" length of 3" type "M" copper tube 4 90 degree short elbow for 3" copper tube 4 Elbow Plate 8 Saddle 1 Welding Jig The Welding Jig is only necessary if you think this is be easiest way to put the Air Inlet Assemblies together. I had guessed that the easy way to put all the parts together was to: weld the tube into the elbow screw 2 Saddles and an Elbow Plate to the Welding Jig Clamp the tube + elbow to the Welding Jig. Weld the tube to the Saddles and then Weld the elbow into its plate Please feel free to suggest any design changes that would make these parts easier for you to machine or put together. The purpose of this Air Inlet Assembly is to bring cooling air into the preamp boxes while still keeping all of the electrical noise out of the boxes. Account Number: 61-5797 I have obtained all of the raw material that I believe is necessary to make these Air Inlet Assemblies. Please feel free to order anything else that you need. As a second part of this job I would also like to ask you to put the necessary holes in the Top and Bottom Panels of the Inner Aluminum Preamp Box so that these Air Inlet Assemblies may be screwed to the Inner Preamp Box. This description and these drawings are also on the web at: www.pa.msu.edu/~edmunds/LArTPC/T962/Preamp_Box/Air_Inlet/ Thank you for making all of these parts.
