A short description and the date of each picture is given. This information is presented in chronological order. outer_box_at_pab_14feb08.jpg This picture from 14-Feb-2008 shows the outer preamp box sitting next to the T962 cryostat. The out box was at Fermi from 14-Feb until 28-March. preamp_box_small_parts.jpg This picture from 14-Apr-2008 show some of the small mechanical parts that go into making the preamp box. test_installation_at_pab_*.jpg The 6 pictures in the series "test_installation_at_pab" were taken on 24-Apr-2008. Picture #1 in this series shows, from the front, the inner preamp Box sitting on the preamp box support platform and the bottom panel of the outer box. Looking through the card files in the inner box you can see the readout signal feedthrough card bolted to the readout pipe flange. The side, front, back, and top panels of the outer preamp box were not installed when this picture was taken. Picture #2 in this series shows, from a rear isometric view, the inner preamp box bolted to the readout pipe flange. You can also see the bottom panel of the outer box and the insulating supports that hold up the inner box. Picture #3 shows is the same view as above but now the outer preamp box has been installed. Picture #4 is a view from the front in which you can see both the inner and outer preamp boxes. The front and top panels of the boxes have not yet been installed. You can see a production PFC-16 card in the right hand side of the upper card file. Picture #5 is a close up front isometric view of the upper card file showing the PFC-16 card installed in it. You can see details of the card file construction, and the side panels of both the inner and outer preamp boxes. Picture #6 is an overall front isometric view of the preamp box mounted showing it mounted on the cryostat. The front and top panels of the inner and outer preamp boxes are not installed in this picture. installed_at_pab_*.jpg The 12 pictures in the series "installed_at_pab" were taken on 30-May-2008. Pictures #1, #2, #3, and #4 show the preamp box installed on the cryostat with its top, front, and outer right side panels removed. Picture #1 is an isometric view. Picture #2 is the front view. Picture #3 is the side view. Picture #4 is the top view. Picture #5 is a close up of the readout pipe flange where the readout feedthrough card mounts. This picture also shows the copper ground straps that are connected to this flange. Pictures #6 and #7 show the area to the right and to the left of the readout pipe flange as viewed through the upper preamp card file. The copper ground straps and the construction of the card file can be seen. Pictures #8 and #9 show the damaged readout cables from the TPC as they emerge from the readout pipe flange. Picture #10 shows the Fuse Panel mounted on the bottom panel of the outer preamp box. Pictures #11 and #12 show the preamp air blower. There is a front view and a side view of this blower which is mounted in the top of the DAQ rack. feedthrough_installed_*.jpg The 3 pictures in the series "feedthrough_installed" were taken on 20-June-2008 at PAB when the signal feedthrough was installed and the rest of the Preamp Box assembled. feedthrough_installed_1.jpg shows a close up of the assembled feedthrough port with the External Readout Cables in place. feedthrough_installed_2.jpg shows the signal feedthrough port with the Preamp Card File in place. feedthrough_installed_3.jpg is an overall view of the Preamp Box on the cryostat. All panels, except for the front panels, are on the Preamp Box. test_1_96_channels_*.jpg The 2 pictures in the series "test_1_96_channels" were taken on 9-July-2008 at PAB when 96 channels of the Preamp and Filter Cards were tested in the fully assembled Preamp Box on the T962 cryostat. test_1_96_channels_1.jpg is a close up of the 6 PFC-16 cards running in the Preamp Box. test_1_96_channels_1.jpg shows the full Preamp Box with the cards. installed_at_pab_480_ch.jpg This shows the full 480 channel system installed at PAB on Sept 5th. The front covers of the inner and outer boxes have been removed to show the PFC-16 cards and the cabling.
