Inventory of the Simard Sputtering Power Supplies --------------------------------------------------- Original Rev. 18-Feb-2022 Current Rev. 14-Apr-2022 I will list all of the Simard power supplies that I know about. First I will list the supplies that are currently connected to a gun and then list the other supplies that I've spotted in various places. Gun "A" ------- Filament & Anode Supply: Simard Model PD-250 SN PD2541 Status: hopefully repaired and now working OK again Target Supply: Simard Model TS-2 SN TS2032 Status: assumed to be working OK Gun "B" ------- Filament & Anode Supply: Simard Model PD-200 SN PD2013 Status: assumed to be working OK Target Supply: Simard Model TS-2 SN TS2041 Status: assumed to be working OK Gun "C" ------- Filament & Anode Supply: Simard Model PD-200 SN PD2014 Status: assumed to be working OK Target Supply: Simard Model TS-2 SN TS2042 Status: assumed to be working OK Gun "D" ------- Filament & Anode Supply: Simard Model PD-20 SN 18384 Eratron Model PD-20-MF Status: assumed to be working OK, missing its 10-t control knob for Filament Current, has it always been missing ? Igniter Box, i.e. the extra metal box sitting behind this PD-20 supply is an "Igniter Box" from Simard that allows a PD-20 supply to work in the same way as a PD-200 or PD-250 supply with respect to starting and re-igniting the plasma. Target Supply: Simard Model TS-2 SN 2031 Status: assumed to be working OK, for some reason there is no "TS" in the serial number on this power supply Spare / Other Power Supplies: ----------------------------- Rm B148 on the floor behind the sputtering electronics racks Simard Model PD-20 SN 13279 Eratron Model PD-20-MF Status: has a 3 pin output connector, has a broken front panel Volt meter, it's missing fuses and terminal screws, works/broken ? Rm B148 on a table in the front of the room Simard Model PD-20 SN 18187 Eratron Model PD-20-MF Status: has a 3 pin output connector, otherwise its status is unknown, works/broken ? Rm B112 on the counter Simard Model PD-250 SN PD2511 Status: was brought to Rm B112 to use as a parts source for the repair of PD-250 SN PD2541, it has a broken Plasma Voltmeter, it's now missing its igniter relay, an internal cable, and snubber networks, whether or not it has other problems is not known. Status: This supply has been repaired and was given a final test on 14-April-2022 using the dummy load. All functions were tested except for actually using the remote control panel. Repaired items include: front panel Anode Voltmeter, Igniter Relay K405 and its Snubber circuits, 24 VAC Transformer K303, Main Control Board items: Relay K1 and Electrolytic Caps, and a replacement Cable from the Control Brd to the Anode Voltage and Current Sensors. Summary of "Pinch Points": -------------------------- - As far as I know there are zero spare Target power supplies - either working or not. - As far as I know there is only one of the separate Igniter Boxes so that at the most the running 4 gun system can use only 1 of the 3 PD-20 power supplies.
