Manufacturing Instructions for the M-Card --------------------------------------========--- Circuit board name: M_Card Rev A Quantity to be Manufactured: 5 boards Circuit Board Material: G10 (FR4) Overall Circuit Board Thickness: This circuit board should have a nominal thickness of 0.062 inch. Overall Circuit Board Size: 6.000" x 9.400" rectangular board. There are no cutouts or special shapes. The board outline, as indicated by the center of the line drawn in the Test Plot, indicates the real finished board size. Layers: 2: 2 external signal / plane layers Copper thickness: 1 oz copper to be used on both layers Solder Mask: BOTH SIDES The same solder mask is used on both sides. Use a Liquid Photo Imagable solder mask. Solder plating: Only the area of copper NOT covered by the solder mask should be solder plated. (i.e. Solder Mask over Bare Copper). Silk Screen: Silk screen on the component side only Holes: There are 3 different hole sizes. 828 holes finished size 0.040" all are plated 2 holes finished size 0.106" all are plated 17 holes finished size 0.140" all are plated Delivery Schedule: 5 days after approval of photo-plots Gerber File vs Baord Layer ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- File Name Contents Location in Board Stack -------------- ---------------------------- --------------------------- ArtWork_01.Grb Test plot of board outline ArtWork_02.Grb Component side plane & traces Component Side ArtWork_03.Grb Solder side plane & traces Solder Side ArtWork_04.Grb Silkscreen On the Component Side ArtWork_05.Grb Solder Mask Used on BOTH sides The planes layers, i.e. files 2, and 3 are supplied as negative data. The Component Side and Solder Side of this board are almost comleteley covered by Gnd Planes. Embedded in this plane are a few traces. All pins are either fully buried in the plane (with no thermal relief) or else have 60 mil pads that are fully isolated from the plane by a 12 mil air gap. The Solder Mask, i.e. file 5 is also supplied as negative data. All other files are positive data. M-Card Aperture Table ------------------------- Dcode Shape Type Diameter ----- ------ ----- -------- 10 circle trace 0.010 11 circle trace 0.016 14 circle flash 0.010 15 circle flash 0.084 16 circle trace 0.050 21 circle flash 0.065 22 circle flash 0.400 D-Code 14 is flashed as 10 mils. This just shows the location of pins that use this D-Code. These pins are fully buried in the surrounding Gnd plane. There is no Thermal Relief. These pins are electrically connected to the surrounding Gnd plane. D-Code 15 is flashed as 60 mil copper pad surrounded by a 12 mil wide air gap. This makes the outer diameter of this flash 84 mils. The 12 mil wide air gap fully isolates the 60 mil pad from the surrounding Gnd plane. These pins do not connect to the surrounding Gnd plane.
