Planet Grouping Photo Page May 14th & 15th, 2002

Moon & Venus

This photo was taken at 10:15 pm EDT. You can clearly see the "Earthshine". The dark side of the moon is being illuminated by sunlight. Photons of light were created deep inside the sun. They have traveled through space, bounced off the earth, went to the moon, bounced off the moon, and traveled back to the earth and into your eye. Or in this case, into the camera.

Here's another photo of the Moon and Venus.

Here's the next day, May 15th. Jupiter, The Moon and Venus are visible along with a jet contrail.
