PHY251 Lab Practical Exam #2
The second practical exam in PHY251 will be given the week of Dec 5
and will be based on The Pendulum experiment. The handout for the practical exam is here.
- The lab practical exam counts as much as any other lab (20
points) and can be dropped just like the other labs.
- The lab practical exam will be 50 minutes long, and the
experiment will be done by each student individually. You will
follow the instructions on the handout.
- Timeline for each lab:
- Half of the students in each section will do the
experiment in the first 50 minutes of the lab.
- Then the second half of the students will do the
experiment in the second 50 minutes of the lab.
- Your TA will have a sign-up sheet where you can sign up to
take the lab practical exam either in the first half or the
second half of lab time (or will distribute the information by
email).
- At the exam a copy of the handout will be provided in
addition to the uncertainty summary.
- Calculators, the lab manual, notes or other aids may NOT
be used during the exam.
- You will not be allowed to use a USB memory stick.
- There will be no talking during the lab practical exam. You
should complete the lab by yourself.
- Any calculations that may be required can be done in Excel.
