Squash Courts at MSU: --------------------- - The MSU IM West has 4 North American squash courts (i.e. narrow kind, 18.5 foot wide), located in the North-East corner of the building, on the upper floor. One of these courts has a little gallery where spectators can watch the game. These courts are missing the side wall markings, and have a low ceiling. The floor surface is painted white and very abrasive. Sally Belloli is investigating the possibility to get these courts renovated. Reservations are not required, usually not needed, but can be made at 432-1475. The IM West is West of the football stadium - The MSU IM East has 2 fairly new North American squash courts (18.5 foot wide) located on the edge of the basketball courts, closest to the locker rooms. Reservations are not required, usually not needed, but can be made at 353-3223. The IM East is located East of the Wharton Center. Other places to play Squash around here: ---------------------------------------- - The Michigan Athletic Club, East of MSU, behind the Hannah Plaza, has three international courts (21 foot wide). The MAC also has some *very* good players. Michigan Athletic Club 2900 Hannah Blvd East Lansing, MI 48823-5364 Phone: (517) 364.8888 You need to be a member to play at the MAC, or a member can invite you as a guest. Your friend/partner may obtain a free pass for you, or you need to pay $12 and you can use the whole facility for the whole day. MAC membership consists of an initiation fee (I can't remember how much, $300-500), and a monthly payment of $80-100 for an individual and a bit over $100 for a family (last time I checked). The MAC has a Web Page (http://www.sparrow.org/mac/) - Do you know any other? Philippe. 24-Sep-2008
