Joining My Group

Prospective PhD Students
I am open to taking new PhD students most years. However, it is typically not possible for me to set up meetings with individual prospective students, and there is no advantage to making personal contact beore you submit your application (I carefully read all applications). Information on applying to MSU's PhD program can be found here. If you are interested in submitting an NSF GRFP proposal to come work specifically in my group, send me an email.

MSU Undergraduates
Annually in the spring I do an open call for applications to join my group for a full-time summer research experience for MSU students finishing their first, second, or third years. This call is sent to all current astrophysics majors, who are given precedence in this process. After this, some students continue to work on projects in my group, including senior research theses. I do not accept new students into my group at other times of the year.

Postdoctoral Fellows
If you are interested in applying for a national fellowship to potentially join my group, please send me an email; I am happy to work with you on your proposal. All other open postdoc positions in my group are advertised on the AAS Job Register.
