Helical correlations and unbroken symmetry in FCC-stacked triangular Ising antiferromagnets

Fiona Burnell, University of Minnesota

The (classical) triangular lattice Ising antiferromagnet is a classic example of frustrated magnetism, with no ordering transition down to zero temperature. I will discuss weakly coupling such triangular layers in a frustrated FCC stacking, identifying a parameter regime where the structure factor is peaked about a 1-dimensional helix in reciprocal space.
