CBM Seminar Friday, November 30 at 11:30a.m. Room 208 Biochemistry Refreshments at 11:15 Alexei A. Stuchebrukhov Department of Chemistry University of California, Davis Charge Transfer in Biological Membranes Abstract: Electron and proton transfer are the key processes in biological energy transduction machinery (photosynthesis and oxidative phosphorylation). Recent theoretical and computational advances in treatment of electron and proton transport in membrane proteins will be reviewed. Applications in Cytochrome Oxidase and other proteins will be discussed. References: Stuchebrukhov, Electron tunneling in proteins: Tunneling Currents Method.
