How to
submit files
Submitting Notices
If you want to post a note about a calendar event
or about any other topic for the
TeV community, you can send email to this server and it will be
marked up (slightly) and placed in a publicly available area
quickly, automatically.
There are two separate addresses which correspond to separate
posting areas,
If you are sending a notice of interest to only one specific research
group in the TeV 2000 Project, please begin the subject line of your
mail message with a group tag
(TOP, IVB, HIGGS, SUSY, EXOTICS, POLARIZED, DETECTOR)
Because the message will be marked-up slightly and will be viewed as World Wide Web documents, there are a few things to keep in mind.
Formatting in your mail will be ignored by a
web browser.
Blank lines will be interpreted as paragraph separators (like in TeX).
Aside from that, however, text will be wrapped where the browser
wants to wrap it. Because we are not (at present) permitting HTML
in submitted messages, your only way to have a list of items
appear as a list is to separate them by blank lines.
Submitting Software or Write-Ups
If you want to submit TeV 2000 write-ups or software for public access
on this server, please read the following carefully.
- Name your files appropriately.
- choose a name which describes the contents of the file,
- use a suffix which describes the type of file (.tex, .dvi, .ps, .eps, .for, etc.)
- use a prefix if your submission pertains to a particular research group only (TOP, IVB, HIGGS, SUSY, EXOTICS, POLARIZED, DETECTOR)
- Ftp them to
ftp://www.pa.msu.edu/pub/incoming/tev_2000
- mail the administrator of the TeV 2000 file areas, Chip Brock, with the subject "TeV submission" or something similarly clear, and explain
- the names of the files you submitted,
- what the files are,
- for which specific research group they are intended (if any)
