PHY 231 - Introductory Physics I

Web-based discussion forum: Registration Instructions

Before you can use the PHY231 web-based discussion forum you need to register once using a web-browser. Follow these steps to register:

User Registration for AltaVista Forum Summit

Login name (must not contain a space):

Password:      Once more:

Full name:

Organization:

Optional

  1. Click with the cursor in the field Login name
  2. Enter your pilot id (e.g. glasmach) as your Login name
  3. Click with the cursor in the field Password (passwords are case sensitive)
  4. Enter your password (e.g. xxxxxx)
  5. Click with the cursor in the field Once more
  6. Enter your password again (e.g. xxxxxx)
  7. Click with the cursor in the field Full name
  8. Enter your full name (e.g. Thomas Glasmacher)
  9. Click with the cursor in the field Organization
  10. Enter your section number (e.g. 25)
  11. You are welcome to, but do not need to provide any of the optional information.
  12. Check the information you have provided, remember your password, and click on OK. Click on RESET to start over.

After you have successfully registered you will see a message similar to

Register User Status

Success: User glasmach has been successfully registered.
Although your registration is complete, you must still log in now in order to use the system.
When you log in, your browser will ask you for a name and password. Use the name and password you just supplied in the registration form.

You can now return to your PHY231 class page at http://www.pa.msu.edu/courses/1997fall/PHY231/ and post or read your first message.
