Currently the package is still very limited. Not too much checking is done and might never if it slows down execution too much. For more details see the API documentation. Also note that the encapsulation currently is very weak. All member variables of the Vertex class are public. In this it is little more than a structure. However it keeps access fast.
Be aware that the API will probably evolve with time. I will try to illustrate those changes directly in the API documentation including suggestions how to adjust your program.
