08.Jul. 2001: After more than a month of silence it is time for some update.
We started to add some stories from the Standesamt (Sorry, only in German so far) and
we plan to add a photo album in the near future.
-
29.May 2001: Today we met with the photographer to pick up the proofs. There
are some very nice shots among them.
-
20.May 2001: We made it! Both weddings were wonderful and it was fun to have
Jan's parents here the past two weeks. In the coming weeks we plan to put
pictures and stories of the past month online.
-
12.May 2001: Today we got married in the MSU Alumni Chapel at 10:30 in the
morning. The weather was beautiful!
-
27.Apr.2001: Standesamt was at 11am this morning.
-
17.Apr.2001: We kept pretty busy the past two days, trying to get everything
in order before leaving for Germany this afternoon. Just hoping, we didn't
forget anything important.
-
03.Apr.2001: Added some hotel information. You can find it on the
Reception page.
-
23.Mar.2001:We ordered a cake from Martha's German Pastries. Her mom used to have a German
bakery in East Lansing (Jan had actually heard about it before) but now she is
working out of her own home.
-
22.Mar.2001: We met with Rev. Robertson. We talked for about 2 hours!
-
21.Mar.2001: We met with Ricque and Beth from
Jambalaya's to discuss the selection for our brunch in more detail. Just
thinking about it makes my mouth water.
-
19.Mar.2001: We added several new pictures.
-
17.Mar.2001: We hired a photographer to cover our wedding. Luke has his studio here
in Lansing.

our wedding.
-
25.Feb.2001: We had our first shower yesterday. It was fun even though the road
conditions were horrible (freezing rain). Thank you all for coming and the
wonderful presents.
-
22.Feb.2001: We had quite a surprise today. Our pastor, Rev. Janice West, got a
call to a church in southern Illinois and will not be able to marry us. She
promised she would find us a good replacement.
-
10.Feb.2001: A few days ago we noticed that
Jambalaya's now has a web
page.
-
09.Feb.2001: The first version of our gift registry is now online. We are also registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond.
-
24.Jan.2001: Oops, just noticed that the direct link to our registry at target
didn't work. I replaced it with a link to their registry search page.
-
07.Jan.2001: Yes, we finally managed to get registered at Target. Well, the list
isn't very long yet. Many things were on clearance and none of their spring
merchandise were on the shelves yet. Hence we decided to go back in a week or
two and register for more.
-
31.12.2000: Only a few more hours until the start of the new year. We spent
Christmas with Jan's family in Germany. It was a busy time since we had to
arrange everything necessary for the ceremony and reception in Germany during our
trip.
-
27. Oct. 2000: Time flies! Now it is only six more months until Standesamt in
Germany.
-
05.July 2000: We reserved our reception site. The reception will take place at
Jambalaya's, a restaurant at Round Lake north of Lansing.
-
18. June 2000: We have been back from Germany now for about two weeks. We looked at a couple
of possible reception sites there, but haven't decided yet. Our most likely candidate at the
moment is the Lübecker Hof.
-
13. May 2000: A copy of our wedding page is now available here. (C.v.O University
