Grading CriteriaThere are four midterm exams and a final. Homework will be turned in and graded with MSU's CAPA grading system. The grade is calculated with the following weights:
Absolutely no excuses are accepted for missing a homework assignment. An extra 15 points is added to everyone's homework grade to account for unexpected problems that would make completing an assignment difficult. These extra points will not allow the final homework grade to exceed 100%. An exam supplement will be passed out following each midterm exam. The supplement will be worth 10% of the total possible points. This score will count as extra credit on the exams, thus making it possible to score 110% on the exams. Again, no excuses are accepted for missing a midterm exam. The lowest score is dropped to accomodate unexpected problems. A makeup final exam will be offered to students with a valid excuse. Time and date will be announced near the end of the semester. Grades are calculated through the following scale:
