Previous: Turning on x-rays:
- sweep the lead-room (check for other people and get them out),
leave, and close the door. Orange light above the door should illuminate.
- Make sure that the key is in the shutter control box and is turned
90
to the on position (weak red light in the lower-left position
will light when unit is on). - raise shutter open switch (ON/CLOSED switch below the red light at
the top left of the unit)
to the ON position. This turns on the shutter solenoid holding
current.
- briefly raise the OPEN switch (small switch at top right). This
raises the solenoid current enough to open the shutter. You will hear
a relay click and the bright red failsafe lamp on the shutter unit will
light when the shutter is open.
- to close the shutter, return the large ``ON/CLOSED'' switch to the
lower (CLOSED) position.
- it is now safe to enter the lead room.
