Opening and closing the Shutter

  1. sweep the lead-room (check for other people and get them out), leave, and close the door. Orange light above the door should illuminate.
  2. Make sure that the key is in the shutter control box and is turned 90 tex2html_wrap_inline44 to the on position (weak red light in the lower-left position will light when unit is on).
  3. raise shutter open switch (ON/CLOSED switch below the red light at the top left of the unit) to the ON position. This turns on the shutter solenoid holding current.
  4. briefly raise the OPEN switch (small switch at top right). This raises the solenoid current enough to open the shutter. You will hear a relay click and the bright red failsafe lamp on the shutter unit will light when the shutter is open.
  5. to close the shutter, return the large ``ON/CLOSED'' switch to the lower (CLOSED) position.
  6. it is now safe to enter the lead room.
