Grading CriteriaThere are three midterm exams and a final. Homework will be turned in and graded with MSU's CAPA grading system. The grade is calculated with the following weights:
Absolutely no excuses are accepted for missing a homework assignment. An extra 15 points is added to everyone's homework grade to account for unexpected problems that would make completing an assignment difficult. These extra points will not allow the final homework grade to exceed 100%. Again, no excuses are accepted for missing a midterm exam. The lowest score is dropped to accomodate unexpected problems. A makeup final exam will be offered to students with a valid excuse. Time and date will be announced near the end of the semester. Grades are calculated through the following scale:
Pratt's sections only: Homework grade will be dropped if dropping would be advantageous. Midterms would then be 4/7 and final 3/7 of grade. |
