Movie Review Assignment
DUE: April 21, beginning of class.
REVISION: Turned into pdf and changed point column as an overall "score" with translation of 1 = 15pts, 2 = 20 pts; 3 = 25 pts; >3 = 30 pts.
POINTS: Books come with different potential point-values. A proposed list is here and these books have a points column showing the maximum: 1 = 15pts, 2 = 20 pts; 3 = 25 pts; >3 = 30 pts (30 is considered extra credit). (Remember, the combination of book+movie must equal 20...and can be satisfied with a single book or a book and up to 2 movies.
DOCUMENTS: A suggested list of books is here.
DESCRIPTION: The selection of books that I came up with is just out of my library at home. There are many more, so if you have one that you'd like to use, bring it in and I'll assign it "score" like the others. I've tried to give you an idea of how hard the book is and what its general topic is. In a handful of cases, I decided that the books were really very serious, so I've added bonus points. Of course, if you disagree with any of my score assignments, ask me and we can talk about it.
So, here is what I would like for a report to contain:
Part 1. Short paragraphs:
So, again in short paragraphs, list each chapter by number and title, then a short synopsis of each.
Please do this work in less than 10-15 pages.

Part 1. Short paragraphs:
- Why you chose the book.
- What did you think were the book's positive points and its shortcomings?
- What did you already know about the subject matter?
- What did you come away learning from this book?
- Who is the author? Do some web/library research to see if you can find out about him/her.
- Would you recommend it? Could it be a textbook for our class? for another class you've taken?
So, again in short paragraphs, list each chapter by number and title, then a short synopsis of each.
