About me
Home

One of my favorite things to do is travel. This page lists some of the pages I use for planning my trips.

Destinations

Languages

Traveling in a foreign country where you don't know the language can be rather intimidating. Although many people in the world speak English already an attempt in speaking their native language will usually be very appreciated and increase their willingness to help you.
There are many resources on the web that can help you: dictionaries, introductory language courses, online translation programs, etc.

Dictionaries

When I was taking Japanese at MSU the online Japanese-English dictionary has been very handy. And now that I am studying on my own again it is simply invaluble.
Another one of my favourites is LEO Dictionary English/German (and its US mirror).
Many more web dictionaries may be found for example at Travlang's dictionary page.

Transportation

Unfortunately this is often the most expensive part of a trip especially if you want to go overseas. However the Internet made it easier to find good bargains and cheaper fares.

Airfares

If you want to go abroad check out TISS. They have some of best deals on international flights available and can check for student fares too. (They don't offer domestic fares.)
Smarter Living has a guide to low airfares including newsletters for special offers from many airports.
Travelocity and Expedia might be some of the best known online travel agents, but don't always offer the greatest fares.
